Thermal Energy Storage (TES) is a technology that stores heat energy for later use, allowing for better energy efficiency and management. It involves capturing heat generated during processes or periods of surplus and storing it for use during times of demand or deficit. It can also be used to import cheaper and greener energy.
In the cremation industry, Re-Therm applies this technology by capturing the significant amount of thermal loses during the cremation process. This stored energy can then be reused for heating facilities, preheating cremation chambers, or other energy needs within the facility, reducing overall energy consumption and carbon emissions.
Probably the most important question. Thermal batteries do not use materials that can combust making them far safer than chemical and metal based batteries such as lithium-ion based systems
Utilising TES in cremation services reduces the carbon footprint by decreasing the need for fossil fuel consumption. It promotes sustainability by converting waste heat into a useful energy resource, thus contributing to the decarbonisation of the planet.
Re-Therm's solution has been custom build for the cremation industry from inception. Practical methods and systems to decarbonise the cremation industry, has been our founders sole mission since 2016.
